IoT Software Engineer
Graz based | Relocation and Travel Package
On behalf of our client - an innovative and rapidly growing IoT scale-up - we are searching for an IoT Software Developer (f/m/d).
In this position, you will shape core product architecture and system stability by maintaining Yocto-based Linux builds, developing hardware-interfacing Python drivers, and collaborating closely with the firmware engineering team.
We are looking for an engineer with a strong background in Embedded Linux, hands-on hardware curiosity, strong Python skills for low-level interfacing, and professional, fluent English skills.
| WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Oversee and refine Yocto-based Linux builds to guarantee top-tier system stability and modern software deployment workflows.
* Create hardware-oriented Python drivers while integrating multiple sensors and low-level communication standards.
* Engage directly with physical hardware for board bring-up, diagnostics, and general system troubleshooting.
* Evaluate and ensure dependable data transfer over a variety of hardware bus interfaces.
* Collaborate intensely with firmware developers to connect low-level hardware components with high-level applications.
* Contribute to defining the architectural landscape of sustainable, cutting-edge mobility platforms.
| WHOM WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Confident, hands-on expertise in navigating and utilizing Linux environments.
* Proven experience working with Yocto or OpenEmbedded, or a robust background in Embedded Linux coupled with an eagerness to adapt fast.
* Practical familiarity with electronics, gained either in a professional setting or through hobbyist engineering (such as ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino).
* Proficient Python coding capabilities, specifically focused on low-level communications, driver development, and sensor interfacing.
* Capability to comprehend and work with electronic circuit schematics and hardware data sheets.
* An organized, practical engineering approach dedicated to building sustainable, high-quality technical solutions.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, supportive team attitude.
* Full professional proficiency in the English language.
| REMOTE WORK POLICY
In this role, you will enjoy a hybrid work setup (1 day remote) based out of the office in Graz, with core flexible working hours as standard.
Should you need to relocate or travel for this role, all relocation and travel expenses will be fully covered by our client.
